The winery museum is interesting and provides much insight on Armenian wine-making and its history. The display left of Nelson tells of a 8,000 year old charred grape seed.
This one (and the one following) give a round down of Areni-1 Cave where archeologic excavations reveal evidence of a winery (with 5 wine cellars) about 6,000 years old. In the same cave, they found a leather shoe, still in good condition, that is about 5,500 years old. That shoe, believed to be the oldest in the World, is now in the History Museum.

Winery staff preparing a table for us to taste their wines, the best part of the tour. From what little I know of wine, I reckon that their wine is the best I've tasted in the Lower Caucasus.
A hand-written page from a wine-making manual - whether sober or inebriated, I won't be able to make wine following the instructions!
