GOLF IN SHENZHEN GUANGDONG

From 6-10 May, I was in Shekou, Guangdong, with two friends at the invitation of my friend, Raymond Ng, who lives there. He arranged for us to stay at the Cruise Inn (Ming Yang), as shown, which used to be docked next to the sea there. Now bec of reclamation, the ship is almost high and dry as the sea has crept outwards. From Shekou, we went to golf in Shenzhen and had four delightful rounds.

This three-piece band performed at the Lowenbrau Bar on the sixth level of the cruise ship where we stayed. For the month of May, they sang only Theresa Teng's songs. Nice music to drink German beer with.

I stood at this traffic junction looking at how the lau bai xing cope when the traffic light there failed. It showed me the unique Chinese way of giving way to each other without squabbles and fist fights. Elsewhere, without a traffic policemen, there would be locked horns!

The Big M and the Colonel co-exist in harmony. Fast food is extremely popular in Shekou.

After golf at Wind Valley, we had dinner at this restaurant, which is one in a row of many. This joint located overlooking both Shenzhen and HK is very popular with the locals as well as tourists who come by bus loads.

The mud crabs are so inviting; they are fresh too!
