SINGAPORE GARDEN FESTIVAL

Traveldaddy has been a bit off-key lately. After the golfing trip to Thailand in April, he made another golf trip to Shekou, Guangdong, from 5-11 July, in which 3 games were played and the rest of the time was spent on foot reflexology, eating and walking about including a day-tripper to Zhuhai by ferry. As 2 of the 3 courses had been played before, he was not motivated to take pix for posting here. To make up for that, Traveldaddy went to the Singapore Garden Festival held at the Suntec Convention Centre from 15-22 July. He leaves some of his impressions from that visit in the next few shots. The last garden festival was held here 2 years ago.
This theme revolving around a kampong house incorporates a scarecrow.
Beautiful, neat and elegant.
Flowers are sometimes a girl's best friend but don't try it in Kunming.
This living room is designed with a garden in it.
A variation of the above theme.
Chilly as a medium of decor to add vibrancy.
Beautiful, neat and appealing.
A "jungle" of plants.
What a soothing effect!
Metal pans with plants for a different effect.
The employment of non-plant media to create a beautiful garden.
This design, which won the grand prize for this festival, was inspired by the movie "Avatar".
Note the use of lighting to enhance the "Avatar" effect.
Another perspective of the garden.
Lovely design for a garden using different media of expression.
Garden design with rocks/boulders as a theme.
I wonder how many species of orchids there are.
Lovely breed of orchids.
The designer creates a journey of a million years of plants in the world. Note the effective use of plastics as a medium to create the aura of mystery.
