GOLF IN KUALA LUMPUR MALAYSIA.

Made a short trip to Kuala Lumpur (KL) this week to golf and jalan, jalan dan cari makan. The Municipal Authorities in KL welcome visitors there with such signs posted along the main streets. KL is touted as the city that never sleeps!

The KLCC, one of the legacies of Malaysia's former Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohamad, is probably the most photographed structure in Malaysia.

One of the convoy of similar vehicles sponsored by Petronas to undertake an arduous journey from KL to the base camp of the Himalayas. This journey took them thru Malaysia, Thailand, countries in Indo China, Yunnan in China, Tibet and then to the base camp. What an adventure!

This newsstand is strategically located at a street corner in the Jalan Imbi area. Many drive by, pick up something here and then pop back in their vehicles and drive off.

After I shot this fruit seller outside the bak kut teh shop in Jalan Imbi where we had breakfast, the customers started to stream in. 

Malaysia boleh! (Malaysia can do!). The parking lot was not long enough so the owner of the Kembara parked it this way! 

Shangri-la! Alas, this is not the shangri-la in Yunnan but the Shangri-la Hotel in KL where we stayed. No doubt the mystique and beauty of the Lost Horizon in Yunnan have inspired the owners to adopt this name!

Kelab Golf Negara Subang (KGNS) or Subang National Golf Club off the KL Federal Highway to Port Klang which has hosted many international and national tournaments. The Putra Course here is in excellent condition and it cost me as a member's guest RM 126 for greens and RM 31.50 for caddy fees on a weekday. The course and slope ratings are 72.9 and 130 resp, off blue tees. The length off blue is 6326 m. Truly a respectable and worthy course!

After a good round at KGNS, my friends are at the 19th hole enjoying beer and an animated shooting-the-breeze session. I bought one round for not clearing a par-three ladies' tee-box after shooting a birdie at the Index 4 hole before. Why didn't I change the ball before teeing off??

This was taken from one of the holes of KGNS. A section of highway or fly-over being built, possibly to ease grid-lock on the Federal Highway. KL has so many highways that many residents are of the view that wherever they reside that is the centre of KL.

The Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC) located within the city itself. As a member's guest, I had to pay RM 152.25 for greens and buggy fees on a weekday. This price is not justified because the course maintenance was below par. My friends and I had a lousy round principally because of the bad course conditions.
