SNOW IN AFRICA? (Cont'd)

A shot of the changing landscape as one crosses the Atlas Mountains.

From north to south, one crosses the Atlas Mountains from the Mid Atlas to the High Atlas and then to the Anti (Low) Atlas before heading to the arid and desert parts of the Sahara Desert.

The changing landscape in the Mid Atlas.

Lush cultivation before entering the more arid regions.

Elaborate carvings on a gateway to a side road in Marrakech, the second oldest Imperial City also known as the "Pearl of the South". Almost all the time, Marrakech is sunny with clear blue skies and set beautifully against the Atlas Mountains as a backdrop. We experienced the warmest weather here during our Moroccan tour.

Visited this pharmacy in Marrakech. The word "pharmacy" can be associated with Western or traditional Moroccan medicine which is derived from herbs or plants. I learnt about Argon Oil here and also that to prevent "tourist diarrhoea", one should sprinkle his/her first meal in the place visited with cumin.

The majestic Koutoubia Mosque in Marrakech which has been preserved as a national monument.

Took this shot to show that the streets there are clean and tidy.

Strolling in a local market.

A market stall selling herbs, spices, etc with everything neatly stacked and arranged. Does make shopping easier?

Waiting for lunch to be enjoyed......

The Hand of Fatima on the left building. The symbol has great significance for Muslims in general and Moroccans in particular.
