SRI LANKA, PEARL OF THE ORIENT (Cont'd)

Shot from the Citrus Hotel where we stayed the night at Wadduwa. The Sri Lankan coastline is dotted with very nice beaches.
A turtle born with a deformity. If let into the wild, it would become predator sashimi.
A turtle that is a few weeks old relaxing itself by perching two of its flippers on the edge of the tank.
This turtle is big enough for Louisa to carry, assisted by the guide.
Where turtle eggs are kept with dates of when they were buried in the sand.
A baby turtle in the fingers of my Macik.
This is the turtle hatchery where all the above shots were taken. It's a private enterprise which buys over turtle eggs found by fishermen. The eggs are kept until the babies are hatched and released back into the sea when they reach a certain age.
The estuary of the river where we had our river safari.
Our guide explaining how cinnamon is stripped. The man in sarong leased the island from the G to grow cinnamon.
