ROAD TRIP IN CHINA

From 12 to 19 Apr, Raymond Ng, my friend residing in Shekou, China, and I undertook a drive across three provinces in China. We started from Shekou and drove through Guangdong and Guangxi to Guizhou. All in, we drove some 3,550 km. Places we saw included Yilin City, Nanning (capital of Guangxi), Du Shan, An Shun, Guiyang (capital of Guizhou), Lei Shan, Kaili City, Guilin and Wuzhou. In addition to seeing many wonderful cities, towns and majestic natural sights, the most memorable part of the trip has been to witness the people's contentment and living relatively stress-free. I must also commend them in using every piece of land they can lay their hands on to cultivate something in it! Guizhou, one of the poorest provinces, is a part of the Yunnan/Guizhou Plateau and the general elevation is about 1.5k m above sea level. For this reason, the climate is cooler than in neighbouring Guangxi. The pix that follow capture my impressions of the people and sights we met/saw during the trip. I trust that you will enjoy them.
