Many modern amenities abound in Kaili City.
In Kaili City, we ordered some chicken dish and it turned out to be curry akin to our taste. What a delight!
A Tong house on Happy Elephant Island in Red Maple Lake, Guiyang City. We chartered a speed boat to take us to 4 islands in Red Maple Lake. In one of the islands, where a Miao Village once stood, there is no inhabitant as the place is slated for renovation.
An attraction based on Tong architecture on Happy Elephant Island.
Something like Snake Temple in Penang, this island in Red Maple Lake is similarly named and there are some snakes in a pit, as shown.
This is Tortoise Island in Red Maple Lake. No tortoises here but a stone one in the background.
Rapeseed, from which canola oil can be extracted, is grown extensively wherever we went.
An attraction - Tian Long. Located here is a Ming Dynasty fortress and a replica of a Ming town.
Entrance to Tian Long.
In An Shun, our breakfast consisted of bread made by this young lady. It was nice and inexpensive too at 3 RMB each! Her neighbour sold glutinous rice.
Some An Shun retirees who are bird watchers and admirers.
This building housed a Catholic church which has been re-located.
Doing what many retirees in China do - morning exercise near An Shun Pagoda.
Some of the food we had for dinner in Gui Yang. The skewered meat is donkey which is considered a delicacy.
