This is the Tiger Leaping Gorge, 97 km away from Shangri-la and very near to Lijiang. It's one of the most spectacular gorges in the World. It is so called because legend has it that tigers used to leap from the bottom of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain to the other bank using a boulder in the middle of the gorge as a stepping stone.
