While Batangas is famous for its bay (of the same name), beautiful beaches, islands, seaside resorts and Keppel Shipyard, it is also known for Barako coffee. A man called Ka Xandro spent 10 years experimenting with Batangas indigenous coffee called Barako which he mixed with Muscovado sugar and today, this blend - Xandro's Kapang Barako - is much favoured in Batangas province. Coffee drinkers heading that way must surely savour this unique flavour.
