Sunrise over Mt Kinabalu at 5.45 a.m.

gorgeous set of sunrise/mountain top photographs! wish i was there to enjoy the view... but i think i'll be so scared, considering my fear of heights =p

It's not so bad because one is not subject to a sudden rise in height. Where we were, it was 5,000 ft above sea level. From there, Mt Kinabalu climbers will prepare for the climb to its peak which is about 4010m above sea level. That will take two days. First, the climbers will climb to stay over-night at trekkers' huts. By 3 a.m. or so the next day, they will be awakened to start the "assault on the peak". After reaching it, they must descend before 8 a.m., otherwise clouds might come in.
