This plaque gives historic details of the Santo (Sto) Nino Church which was first built in 1565. It is located behind the Cross of Magellan. Daily, many people come here for mass, to pray or for devotional purposes. Sto Nino (the Infant Jesus) was the Patron Saint of Cebu but when the inconsistency of equation of sainthood to God was realised, the Cebuanos chose Our Lady of Guadalupe as the Patron Saint in place of Sto Nino.
