The interior of the Wat Chiang Man, Chiangmai's oldest temple dating back to 1296 AD. The current Thai monarch did his service as a monk here. The King's pic is proudly displayed at the right. Wat Chiang Man is the finest example of N Thai architecture. It houses a 20-30 cm marble Buddhist relief originated in India or Sri Lanka some 2,500 years ago as well as Phra Kaew Khao, a small ancient crystal Buddha image.
